Fanny Bay Community Hall TEMPORARY CLOSURE (Nov. 10 – 16)

Message to Community regarding Fanny Bay Community Hall Closure

If you are a regular participant in FBCA programs you will have been impacted by the closure of our dear hall from November 10-16, and if you have occasion to pass the hall you may have noticed some work going on.
     The hall has been closed to address urgent safety issues. A recent engineering assessment called for essential building upgrades to maintain the structural integrity of the building.  The cable ties in the main hall are being replaced and safe access to the building, during eventual snow load on the roof, will resume when this work is complete.
     We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) for their timely support in funding this critical repair.  In particular, we wish to extend our thanks to Mr. Daniel Arbor, Director, Electoral Area A, for his unwavering efforts and assistance.  The FBCA will provide $10,000 towards the costs which are forecasted to exceed $50,000. The CVRD will provide one time funding for the remainder.
     We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may have caused and we wish to assure you that providing a safe and friendly facility for the community is of the utmost importance to the Fanny Bay Community Association.
