Community Engagement Meeting
Please mark this important date on your calendar and spread the word! This is a general meeting of the FBCA members and everyone from the community and surrounding areas is welcome. It is a great opportunity to take out your FBCA 2026 membership and to have a voice at the table as we look forward to our association’s 96th year. And, yes, there will be pizza and refreshments!
It’s time to take action on the hall’s foundation repairs. Some of the foundation supports are in need of repair and require remediation. We are anticipating that Phase 1 of the repairs will address the most critical area along the north and northeast side of the building. As one means of achieving that goal, potential grant opportunities require that we raise at least 50% of the project’s costs (the estimated project cost is $150,000) to the tune of $75,000.
The January 28th General Meeting has the following goals:
- The membership approves a Capital Project Fundraising Campaign for repairs to the foundation.
- A Capital Project Fundraising Campaign Committee is formed. This ideally should be a team of 5-10 people who will coordinate a calendar of fund-raising events, reach out to businesses for contributions, implement a community donor drive, and manage communication about the campaign to the community. We cannot move forward without this Committee. If you are willing to put your name on a list prior to January 28th to lead or participate on this committee, please contact [email protected].
- Each and every community member, young and old, contributes ideas, creativity and support to plan and implement fund raising options.
Let’s fill the hall with your love and enthusiasm for the Fanny Bay area and the Fanny Bay Community Hall. Wrap your arms around this Great Dame and help her stand straight and firm. She is our Community Hub. She will continue to embrace us through our celebrations and events for decades to come, and She Needs You Now!
