Baynes Sound Garden Club
The Baynes Sound Garden Club provides a social setting that focuses on gardening and fun social activities. The Club is a great way to meet a group of people with similar interests in gardens and gardening. No need to be an expert gardener; everyone is welcome, including guests.

What do the plants tell us when we truly listen? Join us for an extraordinary storytelling gala, whether you’re a hiker, a gardener, herbalist or a forest dreamer who loves the natural world. We are bringing together three of the world’s most iconic herbal elders – Rosemary Gladstar, David Winston and Nancy Turner to share the lessons they’ve gathered over lifetimes spent in service to the green world.
All tickets include a book – signing opportunity and a delicious herbal mocktail

- June 29 Herbal Intensives:
Plant Walk: The Energetics of Herbs 9am – noon $97 with David Winston & Patrick Kooyman. Curious about the plants growing all around you? Join us for a relaxed and engaging herb walk. We’ll slow down, explore, and experience herbs with our senses – tasting, smelling, and learning as we go.
The Poison Plants: Materia Medica and Magic 1:30 – 5:30 p.m. $127 with Seed Sisters. Step into the mysterious world of the witching herbs – datura, mandrake, belladonna, and henbane. Explore their powerful stories, sensory qualities, and herbal uses in a hands – on half day experience
Garden Walk: Edible and Medicinal Uses of Common Garden and Wild Plants 9 am – Noon $97 with Rosemary Gladstar. Join a slow stroll through the gardens and surrounding untamed areas meeting common plants that are found growing around people and our human landscapes in most parts of the world. Rosemary will share stories, medicinal and edible uses, and identification features

- July 9: Summer Garden Tour and Potluck BBQ
The tour will begin at approx. 3:30 PM and we will spend approx. 20 to 30 minutes at each venue.

Please bring with you a potluck food item to supplement the provided meat item that Leanne will have prepared for us. It is suggested that members with the surname beginning A to M bring a vegetable or salad dish, those with their surname beginning with N to Z bring a sweet or dessert item.

Monthly Meetings:
Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month (except for January, July, and August) at 7:00 pm at the Little Hall, 418 Ship’s Point Road, Fanny Bay. Most meetings include a guest speaker, refreshments, a showcase for members to display items from their garden, and many opportunities to ask questions, share information (and plants), and make new friends.
Membership:
Yearly memberships are $20 single or $30 for family.

Garden tours, barbeques and an annual Christmas party are just some of the events we hold each year.
Fundraising
Our big fundraiser of the year is a Plant Sale in May (the Saturday of the Mother’s Day weekend) with sale items being donated by club members from their own gardens and homes. Volunteers are always welcome.
